The Comparison Game

If the grass looks greener on the other side...stop staring. Stop comparing. Stop complaining and start watering the grass you're standing on. -Eugene Cho

This is one game you will fail at every time you play it! Millions play it, thrive from it, and even die because of it. It's called the Comparison Game.

When did it become okay to desire to be someone else? Each of us are fearfully and wonderfully made yet there are moments where mediocracy chokes uniqueness which leads to conformity.

For instance, how long do you spend on social media checking out other people lives while inwardly comparing your life to others? When did likes, comments, and approval from people become the standard for a job well done in life?

How often do you find yourself aiming for a goal or achievement in a false pursuit to out do the next person? How many times do you compare your skin complexion, hair texture, body shape, voice, job, talents, family, and everything under the sun with someone or something?

This deadly game kills creativity and forces one to camouflage the original masterpiece (YOU). The Comparison Game is so dangerous that it can even lead to self-hate.

Self-hate is not limited to disliking a particular aspect of one's life. It goes deeper. It is a disconnected and distorted view of one's very existence.

As I challenge my self to truly step back from this board game of disaster, I encourage you too to put your game piece down and embrace a one of kind design.....embrace being you.
