I’m tired. I want to quit. This is hard. HELP!
I doubt that I’m the only person in the world who has thought or said these things. The hardships and challenges of life are real! They can hit you when you least expect it, make you cry rivers, and call for your mama.
God never told us that life’s journey would be easy. In fact, the word of God talks about how man’s days are few and full of trouble (Job 14), a follower of Christ will be hated by the world (John 15:18-25), and the cost of discipleship (Matthew 16:24, Luke 14:25-33).
So…. What are we to do when life isn’t fair, circumstances feel insurmountable, and everything around us screams chaos?
BREATHE! No matter how hopeless it feels or looks…DON’T GIVE UP.
Accountability:
Surround yourself with a godly support system. This can be through your church, small group, godly mentors, and/or friends. Accountability and support are necessary for this life’s journey.
Sustenance:
Fast, pray, eat, sleep, and breathe the Word of God! Fasting and praying are powerful tools. They grow us closer to God and further away from the influences of the world. You cannot fast without praying. The Word of God is literally life to us. It is guidance, reassurance, and powerful. Try it!
Personal Cheerleader:
If you are not on your own team, then who will root for you? Believing and encouraging yourself is essential for esteem, motivation, and perseverance. Speak affirmative words and truth over yourself. YOU CAN DO IT!
Clean Up:
There are some environments, mindsets, lifestyle choices, and people that may need to be removed in order for you to grow. Bad company corrupts good character
(1 Corinthians 15:33) speaks volumes on why it is essential to check one’s surroundings. Are you feeding yourself health or death? Are the words you say or listen to uplifting or drowning you? Are your friends helping or hindering your purpose?
No matter what, keep striving for greatness. It will be worth it in the end.
